Reasons to Visit the Library : It’s More than Books

library shelves filled with books

The library has served different purposes for me throughout my life.

When I was a young adult, it was a place to read magazines for free and, of course, check out books. As a young mom, it gave me a place to take my tot for free where she could play with others her age, and I could chat with other moms. Now, as a homeschooling mom of a preteen, I am making more use than ever of the resources and programs being offered. There’s always a reason to go to the library.

Of course you’ll find books at the library. Lots and lots of them. But there’s more than just books to borrow. Your local library most likely offers far more resources than you realize.

Here are just some of the things you can check out.

  • books

  • ebooks

  • audiobooks

  • book club kits

  • movies

  • music CDs

  • video games
